Federal Supervision Agency for Customer Protection and Human Welfare allowed to smoke electronic cigarettes and fruit hookahs in cafes

Moscow. July 10th. INTERFAX.RU - Federal Supervision Agency for Customer Protection and Human Welfare will not prohibit fruit hookahs and electronic cigarettes in cafes, because it is not tobacco smoking, stated the newspaper «Izvestia» Aleksey Nemeryuk, the head of the Moscow department of trade and services.

E-cigarettes appear to be less addictive than cigarettes for former smokers - and this could assist in efforts to understand how to curb cigarette smoking, according to researchers.

The popularity of e-cigarettes, which typically deliver nicotine, propylene glycol, glycerin and flavorings through inhaled vapor, has increased in the past five years. There are currently more than 400 brands of "e-cigs" available. E-cigarettes contain far fewer cancer-causing and other toxic substances than cigarettes, however their long-term effects on health and nicotine dependence are unknown.

Japan Tobacco Company buys the manufacturer of electronic cigarettes Zandera

Japan Tobacco Inc. agreed to buy all outstanding shares of the British company Zandera Ltd., famous by the E-Lites electronic cigarettes brand.

As JT reported on Wednesday, transaction will be financed on available cash and loans and, as it is expected, will be closed in the 2nd quarter of 2014 financial year after obtaining permits by regulators. The purchase price JT JT has not named.
